true punk's not dead, just very hard to find.
Green Day and bands you find on the radio are not punk.
what about the bands who actually believe and live what punk is actually about, like Leftover Crack or Ghost Mice?

you cant just say green day aint punk cause you dont like them. or there sell out or whatever (making alot of money).

there doing there own thing, and they dont care if you care if there punk or not. makes em more punk if you give a flying toss if there punk or not.

I accually love green day

yeah kerplunk and before are amazing like lookout stuff.

but even at that green day sond the same all the way to american idiot, to me there not much change apart from the mixing been better produced and mixed and that. i saw a vid on youtube from 2005 or soemthing at the american idiot time, and they played cristie road a really early song and it sounded like it was off american idiot cause it was so clean played better sound and that.

green day are great to me cause they play songs i can relate too and there not being pure depressig about it.

Punks been dead...and all these little kids running into Hot Topic to buy a shirt with an anarchy sign on it are pissing on it's grave.

It depends on how you define "punk" and what aspect of it your talking about..

Theres TONS of independent bands/labels who live by a more DIY code of ethics. It's ya know..the underground lifestyle..you just gotta know where to look.

Punks not dead, it's just evolved and changed. I'm sick of the elitism of older punks, who are all like 'punk died after the 80's', there hasn't been a good new band since 1982' - well guess what - if you don't like it, go start a band that you think is punk.

Uh,,, it's us older punks that left enough copies of "Nevermind the Bullocks..." so you could steal it and play it at your parties. Elitism, ha ha ha ha. Well, the good news is, what you youngins call punk, is not our style, and we will have the pleasure of knowing on our death beads that we have seen all of the greats live, while they were in their primes ...So enjoy your Greenday cds and that nifty LaCuna Coil hoody ya just bought at the mall. I have to go change the DK sheets on my kids bed. Later (this was all meant in good punk rock humor, )

Bowling For Soup, nifty name. Where are they from. Can you suggest where I might find a recording of their stuff or are they strictly a live only band? I am always open to new stuff. I tried tofu, didn't like it. But I tried it...=)

Oh, as for the DK bed sheets. Actually I cheated there. I bought a black bed set and hand bleached the symbol on them. Have to be very careful so as not to use too heavy of a bleach solution(mix with water to cut it down a bit). Other wise you get tiny bleach burn holes everywhere, and it's back to cardboard...
