i dunno sex and violence is a bada** song... the casualties and exploited are still around... punk is.. well punk. i dont think it'll ever go away but there are so many sub forms of punk..so who knows whats what anymore... theres the oldschool the new school, pop punk, trendy punk, emo schreemo and whatever else...

Punk is NOT dead!!

For every crap assed "punk" band I.E. Good Charlotte, there are at least 5 other punk bands that stay true to the formula.

Bands like Social Distortion, that proove that you don't need to play just 3 chords & spit, are still as noteworthy now as they were in 1979. It's the evolution of the species.

There are tons on great punk bands, just don't look to find them on the radio!!

Punk is dead. Punk is not a form of music, it was a counter-culture movement in the late seventies/early eighties.

There is a difference between music which sounds like the music created in the punk era to punk music.

I know alot of underground punk bands, and their just not the same as the old ones.

can we settle this yeh? punk, as pointed out by jmo is a movement and that died a long time ago, the music that went with it still lives, just in a more modern form eg greenday ect but the real stuff eg the buzzcocks, sex pistols and yeh the ramones is in a way dead too. the only reason people say they are punk is coz they have heard of these people. you may think thats a total contradiction as i say i love punk which i do the old stuff that i just described. just because you act in a certain manner, dress in a certain way, listen to the new age music ect doesn't mean your punk, that era has passed. get over it!

the only thing remotely like punk thats still around is punk rock, which just keeps the style and fun of playing punk music
just without the serious political message which a lot of punk bands had
