when i was a young lad (a long time a go) i used to collect some round cardboard things called Monsters. On the front you had a picture with a demon / ghost / monster and on the back you had the skills of the demon. You had to buy 2 bubble gums to get one of those "cards", and, if you got 5 bubble gums you could get a piece of paper with the history of the demons you had bought.

There were 66 cards...i got them all....i got all the demon history papers too. I used to walk all over Bucharest to get some cards as they were very very rare. After about an year i had completed my collection, then i made a cardboard cylinder thing and put all the cards in it....then put the cylinder thing in a shoe box along the history papers...i still have all of them, they are my most prized possession.

I even have the 17th card with the error on it...i believe it is one of a kind...

I think i spent over 150 000 ROL (1 $ = 36 000 RON) on them...and that was a lot of money for a 10 year old...but i think it is worth it...i still have all of the cards and papers in mint condition !

the thing is...i hated that gum

They may be a waste of money but my husband has on car that is now worth over 2600 dollers. So it may pay off.

I collected pokemon cards but I never really understood the actual game you could play with them. I had a lot of fun collecting them though. When I didn't want them anymore I gave them to my mom and she would use them as prizes for her students.

When you think about it, trading card games aren't the only thing that you spend a lot of money on, get enjoyment out of, and then outgrow. If this is what you consider a "waste" of money, then you probably wasted your money on a lot of other stuff too!

Damn right I'm good in bed, I can sleep for hours!

You love it. You know you do.

Yeah great point like DVD's I mean i have over 5000 of them and what are they worth?? Well i have 1 box set of VHS thats worth over 5000 but thats cause it is the origional shirley temple collection not opened that was passed down to me from my grand ma. But you do have a good point we do spend alot of money on things that mean nothing in life when it comes down to it.
