Dowser501 above has the right idea - aloe vera is scientifically proven to be beneficial for many dis-eases known to man. Don't fall prey to aloe supplements though, as aloe loses its benefits shortly after being exposed to air. It must be either fresh or stabalized
(only one company holds the patent on the stabalization of aloe).
There's so much more beyond aloe! Back in the 30's, the nobel prize in medicine was awarded to a man named Otto Warburg for his discovery - and proof - that "cancer cannot grow in an aerobic environment". That means that cancer not only can't grow, but will diminish, in the presence of adequate oxygen. Countries outside of the USA use H2O2 and ozone to eradicate tumors. One of the problems with self-treating is that the condition of even healthy cells (if diagnosed with cancer) are unable to properly utilize oxygen, so just exercise and 'deep breathing' are insufficeint. And NEVER consume hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) as it will destroy the lining in the stomach.
Another issue in cancer (and other diseases) is the pH balance of the body. Most of us lean to the acidic side, as much of what we breath and eat tend to be acidic in general. One of the quickest ways to address pH is to use colloidal minerals. Also, fruits and veggies are very alkalizing. It is wise to invest in a good 'green drink' powder as most of us will never eat enough of them to balance out our foods that are fried, fast, packaged, overcooked, artificially sweetened, preserved, full of pesticides and hormones, genetically altered, and all the other ways we destroy our foods in the name of convenience.
It is imperative to build and support the immune system.
Take plenty of a variety of antioxydants when facing cancer. The reason for a variety is that different parts of the body require different types of them (water base vs oil base, etc) and your whole body needs them, not just the 'sick' parts. A person will experience detox which can be unpleasant for a few days, but the presence and proliferation of free radicals will make any illness more difficult to fight off.
There are many ways to address cancer from the natural perspective (whether or not you choose to go along with an allopathic doctor). Medical doctors are not allowed to even speak favorably of complimentory methods, much less recommend them (malpractice insurance only covers FDA approved poisons). Besides, doctors have enough to do just keeping up with biology, symptoms, drugs and diseases - and that's what we need them to do! It is never wise to take on this task without the guidance of a knowledgeable alternative or integrative practitioner.
In response to thefourfoldroot above -and others - who don't believe in herbalism, there are many of us out here that have benefitted from natural methods. It was a medical doctor who left me crippled at the ripe old age of 27, and the treatment that followed left me with severe heart problems. Through the use of herbs and the Grace of God, I am finally on the road to recovery. Am also involved with others who have been cured of diabetes, cancer, lupus, pilli torti, and other incurables. No, naysayers will never benefit from natural methods, and that's their choice. And yes, there are those out there who will sell overpriced supplements. But is that any different than a medical paradigm that will ignore what is proven to work (Otto Warburg, aloe, oxygen, etc) in lieu of grossly overpriced and often deadly drugs that they KNOW don't work? I think not. No matter one's method of treatment for anything, we are resposible for due dilligence. Thank God we still have a few choices when making our own health decisions!
For those with an open mind, the above recommendations are all wonderful preventative measures for overall wellness. It's easy to think we're healthy if we don't feel bad, but most diseases start many years before they're diagnosed. So don't wait for the axe to fall! Take care of yourself now.

I am so sorry for your friend, i know chemo is just so awful, basically it is killing her slowly. Please try and keep her positive and to remind her daily how important she is to those who love her and how you all need her to hang in there and be brave.
Chemo or radiotherapy really is the only way if thats what her Consultant has suggested. She is in good hands and the main thing is to keep her as positive and loved as possible right now. Try and get her to agree to more treatment if you can. There is a chance she could pull through this.
Treebs is absolutely correct on this one. I can tell you from someone who has been through endless radiation and chemo. I understand her feelings in not wanting to go through anymore chemo.
Chemo itself is really worse and more painful than the cancer itself many times. I have overcome cancer three different times now , only to the thanks of lots of love and encouragement from folks like Treebs, peanut, elite , annski and all of my friends and family around me in real life.
It's not easy even with all the love and encouragement. There are times when the patient just wants to pop the nest person that say"hang in there" in the mouth , but in the long run she will be thankful for the loving nudge that you give her.
Cancer is being researched everyday and there could be a cure anytime just out of nowhere. I know that sounds like a shot in the dark but you just have to keep thinking things like that.
I got to the point that I could not eat and it hurt to breathe. I Had hundreds of small ulcer type blisters come up in my mouth , they started on my lips and went all the way down the lining of my esophogus. This was a side effect of the chemo . I ended up in the hospital being fed through a feeding tube. I spent 8 weeks in the bed with a tube in my stomach in which I was fed through. It was awful. After that episode the doc changed the chemo. Sometime a different kind of chemo can be tried. I think I've been on several different kind of chemo.
Knowing that if I did'nt give it all I had , my kids would have to bury me ,kept me going. It's hard it's really really hard.
