I'm a huge Nirvana fan, I was 15 when they released Nevermind, I was in the prime demographic. They remain one of my absolute favourite bands to this day.

However, they are not a punk band. They are grunge.

The Sex Pistols are one of the founding father's of punk, and also among my favourites.

Hmm my answer is Sex Pistols and of course they're the punk band out of the two but Kurt did always say he thought Nirvana were more punk than grunge,more like a mix of the two though I think although that's debatable...

So close no matter how far<3
