i dont know much about laptops... the one i have now is a toshiba satellite. all i know about it is it has a built in webcam and a 2GB ram thingy xD ive had it about 3 years? maybe. its in pretty good nick though. that was until today... my idiot of a brother cracked the screen. it runs from top to bottom and has a big black blob at the top. im wondering if buying a new laptop with the same or bigger ram would be easier /cheaper than just replacing the screen? does anyone know approx how much a screen replacement would be? and how long it takes? thanks much.

If it's three years old, buying a new laptop makes sense.

Still, if you want your laptop to be up-to-date etc. it's difficult to just keep upgrading it since it isn't as modular as a desktop computer.

Just go on to the website E-bay and just put the model description into the search box and just compare prices and more likely you will do pretty good but make sure that all
of your specs are the same and if so just change your harddrive and you will be back in action !

Ive got tons of music so i keep a backup on an external drive just incase my pc bites the dust, and I find its far easier to transfer everything.
