Placebo aren't emo Brian Molko would probably slap you if you told him that. Anyway, emo started in the 80's from hardcore music. Also, I don't think Evenescence ever thought themselves as emo, nor do they have any emo influence, they are just very poor commercial nu metal.

evanescence is not metal there gothic rock

no but they are labled as gothic rock because of their image and some of their lyrics. yes there are more gothic than gothic bands out there. but it just shows how much lables can go just by an image.

if they are gothic rock. then what would you classify them under

just normal rock I mean a lot of rock artists can pull off the goth image and still be classified as rock. Goth bands are much more heavier then Evanescence.

Amy Lee was never in a band called POD, I don't know where you got that from. Evanescence are not emo, and they're not Goth either. They're rock.

I think the band members are old enough and mature enough not to give a s**t about "emo" or even care wtf it is.

Considering the fact I just joined 20 minutes ago, I wouldn't know that.

Still, I didn't look at them. I don't know what the big deal is with posting in an older thread.
