I worked for an company of Architects back in the early 1990's. They had one Interior Designer for umm about 57 Architects. She graduated from the Royal Chelsea Art College and i understand originally she was there on a placement as part of her Degree and was offered permanent employment.

To be painfully honest, Interior Design is something everyone wants to do, like Psychology and Vetinary Nursing. You can get the qualifications but sheer luck, determination and knowing people in the business is the only way you will ever make a career from it.

My advice would be to telephone around all the Architects and offer your services free of charge once a week until you have enough real corporate experience to be taken seriously.

Try working in some designing firms. If you are able to get your own design license then you will be able to work privately and even setup your own firm!

Goodluck!

You should ask friends if they'd let you do one of their homes. Take b4 and after pics and build up yourself a port-folio

I am the person you see and hear, nothing more, nothing less. Don't like it then that's your problem, not mine!
