i am currently taking business studies as an option at high school and i am doing my coursework. i have been asked as one of the tasks to give a "theory of environmental influences on business". im not sure what it is and ic ant find anyhting about it on the net. i have been looking for a good few hours and still nothing. could anyone just give me a very short definition just to point me on the right track

if you were given it as course work it would suggest you should have covered some of it in class, when is it due? if its not for a while yet wait to see if ur teacher goes over it. if its due soon then ask your teacher why it wasnt in the notes. however it sounds to me that you will have done something like it and are expected to put it in context and expand useing books and the net, so my advice would be to look over what uv already done in class.

yeah i though we should of gone over it unfortunately we havnt. at first it hough i might just not of been listening but i have called up half a dosen people on the course to find out if they kno but they have simple left it out or just had a quess. it is in for monday and very few people have finished it. i am getting a little woried and just wanted to try and get this question out the way and try and get atleast a mark on it so i can get marks on other tasks. if i cant find it out i will just have an educated guess. just my teacher expects a lot of me, i have the highest expected grade in my cla** and i mana get it right cos my paretns wont be pleased if i dont. i have been working 25 hours in the last 3 days on it.

well iv never studied business so unfortunatly i cant help, but if i were to take a guess i would say it was about, bad weather = poor crop yield. possibly could mention global warming as it could factor future harvests. however you could also take environment to mean your working environment, such as if you worked as a receptionist, it would be at a desk. could include office politics.


i dont really know much about your course but thats just my take on the words in the question and possible meanings you could derive from them.

thanks very much, i have to compare asda and an antique dealers company so they dont realy come into it but i think i might just go off one one about plastic bags and how wardrobes are smashed up to make smaller ones. thats a pretty good plan. my teacher know nothing about antique dealing anyway and i do so hopefully i can win a couple of points on that.

Hi. It sounds like your teacher wants your theory on how the environment is leading them to make different decisions. They have to think about energy cost savings and paper. Actually in the USA, many companies have begun using microfilm as a way to save paper. So instead of making paper copies of customer's transactions, they made an electronic copy. A good start for any business is to get your name out there in the market. Advertising yourself, with your USP as you’re for front. USP stands for unique selling point, which sets you apart from all your competition. Then find a decent good quality printer at reasonable prices. There are allsorts of environmental issues facing businesses, from the trend to "be green" at the moment to the rises in fuel costs effecting the economy, look into some of those issues! Good Luck!
