you know there isn't anything worse than when you live in the middle of the desert and then out of nowhere.....your air conditioner goes out!

why is it that it only happens when you live in the ONE place where you NEED and air conditioning unit????

its an air conditioner and the pump somehow froze up...as in literally has ice on it..so now my house is like 90 degress

i have no f*cking clue how it happened! i went to check the thermostat and it was SUPPOSED to be on. so i went outside and i see ice on it! so i turned the damned thing off and now i am sitting in a sauna.

hey at least it is good for the pores right?

yeah i just got off of the phone with american home shield and they are coming to replace it tomorrow for free. thank god!

now i just need to make it through tonight. im just glad it didn't happen say in the middle of oh JULY!!!

That happened to our air conditioner last summer. We didn't have to replace it though, we just had a repairman guy come fix it. I don't remember what the problem was.

My dad drives truck and he used to do long haul, and it seemed like everytime he was in the desert, his air conditioning would quit working. lol

ahh no s**t, how hot does it get where your at? I think last year in tucson the highest it got was 117 or that might have been the year before.

That could be from a few different reasons. The A/C unit is designed for a certain amount of air flow to pa** the evaporator coil, if that does not happen you will get frost and eventually ice on it. Check all of your vents to make sure they are all open.

the hottest it has gotten up here is like 122

all the vents are open. that was one of the first things i checked.

There would have to be something restricting the air flow to cause something like that. When was the last time the evaporator was cleaned? Air filter? Are the air ducts clear of debris?
