Shona the values vary from country to country. It seems as though G.Whitman is a rather unknown artist, yet his paintings are commanding some interesting prices. I have seen one for sale for $12000US and another on e-bay for 300GBP.

How did you acquire your painting, and how much did you pay? I picked up mine from a garage sale a few weeks ago for the princely sum of $10AUD. Not bad hey.

Do you think you could post a photo?

I too have been given a painting with the last name Whitman, but I am unsure of the first initial and cant find an online signature to compare. Does the first initial look like an L with a line through. sorry im no help i just thought you might know. Thanx!

I think i have a G whitman painting its oil on canvas i think a beautiful painting its a river surrounded by trees with mountains in the background painted in black white and greys its signed on the left hand bottom G whiTman it has a large t on the middle would love to know if its an original bought for 10 euros in second hand shop

I have a G Whitman,supposed to be original. 15 x 20. I'm trying to see if anyone has seen this one before.
