What happens if you decide you don't like/want them anymore? Do the holes close up? Or do you have to have them surgically closed? I'm probably showing my lameness here, but I seriously have no clue!!!!

I did see one guy who did not have stretchers/tubes in and the holes were SCARY!!!! My theory on things like this (ear stretching/piercings/tattoos) is to think about how they'll look in a wedding picture or at age 60-70.... Some things just don't "age" well....

this pic is a bit ...er..oh well.
This is as big as I'm going.I don't know what gage it is actually. Took about nine months. Some people get a bit put off by it.

It depends on the person. Some people can have 1" holes shrink down to nothing and some are stuck at 4 gauge. It's generally not a good idea to stretch if you ever want your lobes to be "normal" again.

I think my stretched lobes will be amazing in my wedding picture. Have you seen some of the jewelry you can get for larger gauge piercings? It's beautiful. And as for the "What happens when you get old?" thing, it can't look much worse than the little old ladies who have slits in their lobes from wearing really heavy jewelry in a really small gauge piercing (mmm cheese cutter effect). Besides, once you get all old and wrinkly, are really going to care that much how your lobes look?

I miss my stretched lobes sooo much.

Eh, I dont like them much. They scar your ears, and what youre doing to them, you cant really change back. X.X

I guess small ones are ok, but past the point of scarring your ear permanently is where I draw the line.

They don't always scar your ears. I've personally seen people go from 1" to nothing, and you can't even tell they ever stretched in the first place.
My own ears were stretched to 0 gauge (8ish mm), and are now 'normal', as you can see in the post above yours.

A lot of people at my school have streches, they mostly have in neon plugs.
i think they look cute as long as there not gigantic and rediculous.
but when my friends take them out they smell disgustingg

I think they look fine depending on how stretched it is cause some just look extremely gross like I've seen some that im just like wow that is so big when your old your still going to have those huge holes. I think it just depends on how big and how it looks on the person. Cause some people do look good with it and some don't.
