Am I the only one who wonders how did someone figure this out? I mean what horrible person would let another person sleep while a spider is on their face?

I asked my daughter how did they know that !!!! but she couldn't tell me, I think it was her teacher that told her

With summer season approaching I get paranoid and I also psych my kitties on any reachable spiders

What freaks me out even more than this is the though of some insect or spider crawling in my ear and making a home or laying eggs in there! eww...


The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

apparently you eat a certain amount of small spiders and insects during your lifetime as you sleep.


i think its exagerated by the fact that it freaks people out.
its probably not that common,
i've never heard of a proper study on it, its sounds like urban legend ville to me, but probably grounded in some kind of truth.

Um, why would they do that?

First (mainly about spiders being swallowed while you sleep). What would any insect want inside your mouth? They don't like warm and wet environments!

Your breathing would disrupt them.

Your tongue is very sensitive, so you'd probably wake up.

Maybe if you breathed in a flying insect, yes. But I find it hard to believe otherwise.

I doesn't bother me much, theres no way to control it, and i don't know that its happening so who cares! lol im not so scared of spiders, i can remove them when theres one in the house, i live with three guys!!!
But if it was a snake, then maybe id be running!

I was so freaked out until I thought it through a couple of years ago when someone else told me "spiders go in your mouth while you sleep". Being a massive arachnophobe and all.

This is so weird, I was talking with my friend last night about the eating spiders when we sleep thing. He said that it was just a lie that someone made up just to see how far the lie would go
