I had to #$%@@$%% go into regedit and remove the %%$^##!! upper and lower limits 'cause my %^&&$!! cd rom just wandered away! Anybody else ever have that problem? What causes it? Maybe something in the water?

This could've worked as well Microsoft Support for Code 39 error

There's some text as follows "Microsoft Windows XP
To fix this problem automatically on Windows XP, click the Fix this problem link. Then, click Run in the File Download dialog box and follow the steps in this wizard."
towards the middle of the article.

Thanks! I was so pissed I got stubborn and fixed it myself. Hope I didn't screw anything else up. I appreciate the info, though, and if it comes back I'l try your suggestion first!
