Yeh, I'll elaborate.
This is supposed to be a democracy. Democracy, last time I looked it up meant rule by majority.
Canadians let the politicians and bureaucrats make all the rules and calmly follow along like sheep to the slaughter.
Canada is now run by lobby and special interest groups to whom the politicians toady to buy votes. So what do Canadians do? They just stop voting. We have approximately a 30 to 40 % voter turnout and of those voters, about 35% form the Government.
Not very democratic.
But the majority of Canadians just bitch about it in private, among themselves and otherwise accept whatever they are handed.
We don't have the power that Americans have to elect most of their officials. We just have to take what we get, I guess.
I can tell you that it might seem like a peaceful nation on the surface,
but there are tensions like you wouldn't believe underneath.
That's some of it and enough for now.
