i was bored with my lot been an aged carer for 20 years had dropped out of school and no qualifications so i went back to tafe and did some courses learning as an adult was so inspiring ans interesting studies horticulture and conservation and land mamagement for 2 years full time my husband also studied full time with me and now we run our own landscaping business and only have to work 3 days a week

i wouls recommend getting out of your comfort zone and trying anything life is great if we give it a go age is no barrier and we can achieve anything we desire good luck

perhaps we can't achieve all our desires can't see jonny depp being interested in me lol

PMS and ESP that makes me a bitch that knows everything .............

why dont you get a booklet from your local night school and see if any thing interests you in there,its for all age groups covering english to pottery,everything you can think of will be in there and although its called night school it is open in the day.

This is the perfect time for you to spread your wings and fly! It's never to late!

I went to a residential college in Surrey, and a lot of women there were in your age group, many of them planning to go to university.

One of my closest friends at uni just turned 50. She has no idea what she wants to do aftr her degree, but she's not doing it just for the career, she'd doing it for the learning experience.

You don't need to go to university if you don't want to, but there are lots of things you can do to fill up your time and gain new skills!

going back to work gives you a feeling of confidence and you will have a good time being around adults.

There are tons of jobs out there that don't require skills, they will train you.

You are still young! Get a 2nd career,,something you would really love to do. Volunteer and work with the needy, feel good about yourself and thank God everyday!

, nursing, pharmacy, emergency management, chef, housekeeper, general maintenance, taxi driver and seamstress. And that's just what I can think of off the top of my head!

Remember all the things you used to wish you had time to do? Now would be that time!!

Ditto!! and think of all the money you would have if only the Government paid you the wages of all the above mentioned jobs you've had??? Life skills my dear life skills, are worth much more than book learned skills. JMO

I discovered when I turned 40 that I didn't care so much anymore about what others thought about me and I pretty much chose to do things that I enjoyed! I had such a blast from 40-50 that I couldn't wait to celebrate my 50th And, so far, I'm still having a great time with my life.
I started bellydancing; some people think an old, fat lady shouldn't do that - meh I love it and have fun doing it. Same with learning to bead and make jewelry and a lot of other things I do now. I think after the kids leave is the REAL prime of your life lol.

i think you're a wonderful age!!! and not too old to achieve anything you set your heart on. my kids are 15, 16, and 20- all still live at home. i feel guilty planning what to do with their rooms when they leave but not a lot! what about traveling? or like someone else said, volunteering if your financial situation permits? what a wonderful opportunity- enjoy!

There are two rules for success: 1.) Don't tell all you know.
