i just heard on the news that the longer you breastfeed a baby the better it is for moms and baby

depends, if your mom does it until your like 16, it leads to other problems.

the study probably didn't look at 16 year olds who did it.

BUt yeah, bizarre cases aside it's probably true.

its a health news break between show they do here in FLA sometimes it on hearts or lungs etc.

yes it can be very befinictaly.

my baby is 19 months old, and I still breastfeed her at night. My husband keeps telling me it's going on too long, but I don't think so. You know world-wide the average weening age is around 4 years old? Not that I plan on keeping it up that long, but it goes to show you how exaggerated our culter is about being afraid of dragging it on too long. "Gasp! still breastfeeding at 2 years?!?" It's actually totally normal.

She's doing really well too. She's only gotten a mild cold once, and that's it. I think it's from breastfeeding. I talk to moms who are bottle feeding, and they talk about how many colds a year their baby gets, and my daughter has only had 1 minor cold and she's 19 months old. I see a striking difference.

yeah i've heard before that they is some nutrients or something that the baby gets from their mothers milk that u cant get in the milk u buy from the shops

breast milk has antibodies that help the baby's immune system.

breast milk is definitely more beneficial. my son was raised on formula. he was sick all time as a baby and actually until he was 3, he had bad allergies.

thats interesting, but I think breast feeding is sick if the kid is over 12 months. I think thats a problem or just socially uncomfortable.

Yeah but if the mother wants to do it dont look. I think it is was better than formula and cows milk.

I don't know...I think after a certain point there would be a fine line between helping the baby and causing psychological stuff.

It does seem wrong to breast feed a baby after like a year and a half to me, but I'm not a mom so I don't really know.

When do babies start to get teeth? Shouldn't that be the natural time for them to start on different things than breast feeding?
