I like black metal, but not as much as death...good bands to check out would be Emperor, Immortal, Impaled Nazarine, Demillich, Darkthrone, Enslaved etc...

Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir are the opposite of art. They were created to sell t-shirts to teenagers. Dimmu is like the Metallica of Black Metal. They started as a honest Black Metal outfit but sold out after Stormblåst and became pop metal. Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu are Black Metal with the heart of Christian radio. It's sappy, overindulgent, random, and cheesy. It's Black Metal for suburban teenagers who are disillusioned with high school and are rebelling against their parents. In other words, it's f**king retarded. Listen to Averse Sefira, Absu, Burzum, Immortal, Emperor, Darkthrone, Graveland, Bathory, Ildjarn, Summoning, Gorgoroth, Beherit, Enslaved, Havohej, Mayhem, Mutilation, Sacramentum, early Samael, Antaeus, Celtic Frost, early Behemoth.
