I used pcs all of my life until college when I was forced into the land of mac. I tried to resist and argue why pcs were better but I was eventually converted. In uni I was using a multi-million pound mac based studio and normal G5's. I have since worked for film, television, media and educational institutions that are all mac based because they produce the best results consistantly for this type of work and the industry standard programs can be mac specific because of this.

It comes down to what you prefer but I tend to find (and I'm not pointing fingers to anyone here as I'm sure you're all very informed) PC users who slag off apple have never used one or used it once but never got past the lack of right clicking, mac users who slag off pc used to use pc before switching for whatever reason.

You want to go home and rethink your life!

Mac with OS X is excellent although it is a drastic change from using a normal microsoft computer. i'd say microsoft make their hardware + software more user-friendly than apple does. Apple is really a professional computer that should be used in business'... like graphic business's lol

operating a mac is not so much operating a computer but fooling it into what you want it to do,

Its been a long road, getting from there to here. Its been a long time, but my time is finally near. And I can feel the change in the wind right now. Nothing's in my way.

I love apple computers. My daughter just got a power mac so she's good. She
doesn't like working on windows machines

Hello there, I am a virgin with Imac and I just purchased a MacOSX. I am
having problems in the following:
1) I have uploaded my files from a backup from a PC and now that they are
on my Mac I wanted to clear the unnecessary. However, now that I have all in
the Trash, when I try to empty it, I can't because it seems locked. It's saying
to me the following "to empty everything in the Trash, including locked
items, press the Option Key while selecting Empty Trash." Where is the bloody
"Option Key"?

2) Having been used to the PC and having a normal mouse, by right clicking
on it I could enter other options, but now I can not understand how I can get
the same functions with an Imac mouse...

Please help this dummy here and thank you for your time.

1) Are you using a regular PC keyboard? If so, the ALT key should suffice. A Mac keyboard usually has a button that says "Option" in big letters with "alt" in smaller letters. Some have a little diagram that's supposed to look like a choice on a flow chart or something.

2) Hold down CTRL while you click to get equivalent right mouse button function.
