Yeah, this topic, through pure repititivity and ignorance is summed up by this:

Every moral has a story;
And every story has an end.

The misconception by the public is that there are no viruses for the mac because not many people use them. People have tried to make viruses for the mac and often fail because the source code is more locked up and it is built on UNIX strength.

Right.

You go and get all the hackers in the world together and tell them to hack a mac with only have access via the internet and youll find out its the unix shell that is what protects it.

Go take a look at the list of OS X security fixes.

Apple releases more vulnerability patches per month than Microsoft most of the time.

OS X doesn't have a "Unix shell" unless you count a bash prompt. It has a BSD layer and a quasi-unix security model, but it's obviously not unbreakable.

Although I don't like them (which probably counts for something because I'm so important. Anyone who questions this, JUST CHECK THE AVATAR!), they are better than PCs.

It sounds like you're having issues with a space key, not an apple computer. Get your technology straight. Oh yeah, and it's not slow because of the computer. It's slow because of your internet connection.

Really it all turns out the same as Windows, but Macs seem to be more "thought about" when they are designed, as far as the software goes (and maybe the hardware. People just hate different things.

I use apple because I run specialist programs. If you have a job to do on a professional level you can't beat a mac, if you want to play games, browse the internet and speak to tech support then buy a pc and a decent anti virus program.

i hear this all the time from my college friends. but i don't believe it.
i see no difference professionally, and nobody can really tell me any actual differences and i do some damn fine design work on my windows pc.
though admittedly macs tend to come with better monitors and laptop screens as standard.
