German is a wonderful language. I don't speak it, but I have a good friend who was born in Germany and has the language for a first one. The sound of it isn't so bad.

The ugliest sounding one is Hungrian. I can't describe it, honestly, it just sounds 'eck'.

i know it is in contrast with what most people say, but whenever i hear french it sounds like people spitting at each other. mandarin chinese really isn't that bad at all, but cantonese sounds more like squawking chickens.

German is an ugly language both when spoken and written, but thats just my opinion and no language is better or worse than any other.

There's a language in Nigeria that sounds like gorilla noises. That's the only language I've heard that I think is ugly.

i like the sounds of all languages so i am not sure there is a bad sounding one to my ears...

i can't think of any ugly languages. i enjoy the sound of chinese and romanian, and writing in french and english, and others are very beautiful when you realize what they are saying, german, hebrew, gaelic, sanskrit, and each language is beautiful for its own reasons.

french sounds awkwardly ugly to me.

I would have to say Russians. But mostly because I despite Russians.

Of the African languages I've heard Kirundi(Burundi, Rwanda) and Lilanga (Congo), since I have friends from these countries. I don't think they sound too bad.

I've also heard Lakota-Sioux, and I actaully like that language.
But there are three languages I especially don't like - and that's the languages of my neighbours. It's Danish, Norwegian and Finnish, I'm from Sweden. Most of us Swedes think that these three languages sounds terrible!! But these people often think the same 'bout us so I guess we're even ^^

The number one language that I have trouble tolerating is Spanish, mainly because it is too bulky and fast-paced.

no administrator's gonna lock this thread up? i have to say this is(though not entirely) a racism and nationalism suspected and sentimented thread. No man judge a language from pure and objective standard which can persuade another by rationally organized evidences.
Anyway, in this thread I'd like to vote for German and Thailandish to be the uglist
