English is such an extraordinary language, which mixes Germanic, French and Latin, and deserves its status as an international language.
But when I hear that twang on TV I feel sorry for English.

Yeah I agree too, English is an extraordinary language.
The combination of many others makes it's words and style vary so much.

Vietnamese hurts my ears, as does Chinese.. but not as much as Vietnamese! It sounds so gross! German sounds quite ugly, too...

German and French. French is so nasally and it baffles me that it ever became considered the language of love.

chinese, it sounds like gibberish even when spoken clearly as if they're trying to talk faster then is possible for them

I think that its gotta be German. Even though I can only say one sentence in German > "Haben sie hoiter stoolgang gerhabft ?" = Have you had a sh*t today ?

russian is a terible lanuage but i must say ithink english is the ugliest due to the fact that it all over the place we have lanuage rules that contradict one anouther and depending on tone of voice length of letters anything we say could mean bloody anything.

comming from one who is half german from my dads side i think german is a pretty languge well everyone has diffrent taste in these i sort of things i think the uglyest languge is welsh (no offence to the welsh people here though) i just dont like the sound of it when i was in the Wales all they ever did was speak welsh to me and i woudnt understand it and it sounded horrible

i do speak english and arabic since i learned my 1st words and i find both of them as veryyy easy to speak, and nice languages(arabic is too complicated for a person that doesnt know it since he was like 2 years old, i mean its the hardest language in the world no doubt, and it got some letters mainly 2 of them that none of the americans, british... (anyone who speaks english...) knows how to SPELL them (i know ppl around here who r american and british and they cant spell these letters..
i also know abit of french and i find it really hard!!
but to come to the ugliest, i think japanese(or chinese i can never tell them apart lol), cuz i was in a supermarket once buying chinese nuts lol and this guy came to me and started bla blabing(talking..) in chinese or japanese thinking i was one of them... i have my eyes going up abit!!! but not exactly like chinese or japanese dono hehe
since that day i knew it is a no no language lol

German is a beautiful language, it is soft in its speech and in writing is a masterpiece to look at. Fuck all y'all who think German is bad!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was unlucky enough to be in a stream that did not allow the learning of languages when I was at school so I really missed out on the chance. I have ALWAYS been fascinated by the German language as its shortage of vocabulary means that often many words are strung together to say a much simpler word in English. I did study German at home and I now have enough Deutscher worts to be able to make myself understood while on holiday. The first German word that tickled my fancy was one I read in a war-comic and it was "Unterseebootbunker"...which in English is "Submarine pen" ! After that I was caught and just had to learn more of those fantastic words.

To me the ugliest language is ENGLISH as it is a bastardised language built out of words taken from just about every country around it. It even includes ancient Greek and ancient Latin words from languages that are now dead...or should be.

Alesinordnung mine kliene freund ! ( please don't pull me for the spelling as my German spelling is worse than my English spelling ).

Sorry for the Greek that they aren't extinct yet.
About those long German words : if you attach together the words of the corresponding English or French translation you have a word as long as the German one.
I thought the ugliness of a language was of its pronunciation and not its origins.
