I will not watch that. I have as yet only seen 10 seconds of TOWIE. It offends me greatly on 2 accounts:
1) That there are people this stupid and superficial in the world
2) That they are famous for it.

The world puts more stock into fame and fortune than it does into life and death.
Not to be dramatic but even the thought of TOWIE actually makes me want to puke...

And i'm done....

Fair enough. Used in that sense, I see your point.

it's not so much the words or even the context they are used in but the amount of times people use them.

oh and I'd like to add 'JELLY'

The offensive word - when spelled correctly -- stems from a legitimate metal machining operation and the verb used to describe it. To ream is to open the size of a hole....

To ream or reem?

I'm aware that it means to open a hole (usually what is said when you want to open a paint can, and you use a edge of a screwdriver to ream the top open), I was just pointing out the predominant use of the word as of late in U.S.

I actually goggled it and couldn't find an alternate definition of ream - which is a type of paper(though didn't really look that long), so I assumed the alternate word I was looking for was 'reem', but when I say, "we need to ream that open," I use reAm instead of reEm interestingly enough.

So which is it, ream or reem?

And if it is ream, what does reem mean?

I've also heard of "rimming" - but to me that is when use a rubber-band thingy to keep a hole open which is not quite what we're trying to say.

'Rape' as in something is cool.

It started as a joke, I think, in Fresh Meat which was supposed to be a parody of those sort of phrases and expressions, but now people have started using it completely seriously and unironically.

Isn't rimming when one uses their tongue on someone else's back entrance?

Well, I was trying to define the legitimate technical definition of "rimming" in which you actually do use that rubberband thingy. I can picture it in my head but I'm also aware of the other rimming. LOLS

As stated, above, the verb, to ream, means to open up or increase the size of a hole... This is today being used, in slang or colloquialisms, to describe vile or indecent acts, such as 'an ass-reaming'.

Your use of the word, ream, to describe the opening of a paint-can, or a tin, is improper. Paint-lids are pried off during the opening of the can, but the hole-size is not increased....

The noun, 'ream,' is not a type of paper, but a measure... of the quantity of sheets of similarly sized paper, 480, 500, 512....

As for <reem>, you are on your own.... I don't pretend to recognize it. I have no knowledge of it's use (other than a mis-spelling of 'ream'!), or, who may have developed a fondness for it.

This one doesn't necessarily piss me off but it's just odd, it makes no sense.

"And he turned around and said."

I always imagine someone doing a pirouette.
