People get angry and they have a weapon, a gun, a knife, whatever, which thy took out with them for "defense". The first thing their mind jumps to is the weapon and suddenly they've crossed the line. In those few seconds where anger got the better of them, they've pulled the weapon and killed or injured someone. I'd rather people learned to defend themselves without weapons, which can work. My dad's neighbour hospitalised the same burglar twice when the guy broke into his house. No tasers, knives or guns required.
I doubt a person would be that stupid to kill someone with a gun when they get angry.
What are you going to do, learn karate? A person woiuld kill you before you got within three feet of them. They would shoot you. Have you ever fired a gun? No, apparently you haven't. A gun would be much more affective than a kick or whatever.
As for your Dad's neighboor, good for him. But that won't work everytime. Come here nit he US and see how helpless you are when you don't have a weapon.
Guns are great, and people who can control they're anger know not to use them when they get angry.
There are no bad guns, just bad gun owners. | | |

This is why a taser is preferable to a gun.
If there's a mistake or misunderstanding, or if a taser is used simply out of anger on a unaggressive or nonthreatening person, the chances that they will be injured or killed as a result of the tasing is negligible.

And how big of a woman are you? I'm 5'7" and about 115lb. How in hell am I going to defend myself against a grown man? I mean, if I get myself lined up just s...o which is higly unlikely in a moment of attack...MAYBE I can pull some self defense move. Thanks, but I'd rather rely on something that's a little more of s sure thing.
I just wanna shake it up.

Ok fine. But lets say for a second my 70-year-old grandfather who has angina and other heart problems goes to the shop for milk. It's dark and there's a woman carrying a taser, walking in the same direction as Grampa, slightly ahead of him. It's dark so she's more aware of her surroundings. SHe's aware that Grampa is following her. Without meaning to, he catches up with her. She gets scared, pulls out the taser and fires. Grampa's heart can't take the shot and he has, yet another, heart attack. THis time, it's fatal and she goes down for culpable homicide. It worked really well there.
But let's say he did survive. Well in that case, he's suing her for every penny she's got. Not only has he sufffered physical damage, but he couldn't work for 6 months (not that he needs to, but he enjoys the work he does).
In either of those resulting scenarios, was the taser really worth it.

That same grandpa could go out and trip off the curb and kill himself. You can't dictate how you live your life by every what if. A atser, in the grand scheme of things, is a minor weapon that can aid in self protection.
I just wanna shake it up.
