Mac's are cute and all, but yes! I ehco, no user customization. Thats great if all you want is a media station.

A nice iMac will cost you $1300, while the equivalent Dell(with Windows) will cost you under $700. Just about $500 if you don't want any bells and whistles.

Though I respect Mac more cause its creator is not a theif who purposely turns out faulty products to gouge the public, I can't go Apple just yet. But if you can go Apple.

i'm buying an iMac once my little stash of $10 a day reaches $3,900 at the end of the year

sick of XP screwing up on me

sick of the bloody computer fellas giving me a pile of "recovery discs" which are of absolutely no use to me because it's my HDD that's dying and i can't use those to install XP in another HDD, even when i've paid for the bloody license...

sick of having to keep patching the OS 5 years after its release!

i'm getting an iMac...

Apple Computer: Expensive notepad. Your expensive notepad has many pretty buttons and flashy lights. You can't touch them because the computer KNOWS what it wants you to do. How dare you think you know better than an Apple mac!!

Windows Computer: Has dumbed EVERYTHING down to SUCH and extent that it is now almost impossible for any windows user to learn anything about computers except how to click on the correct buttons.

The difference? Apple computers knows what its doing. It does not need you. In fact it resents you're very existence.
Windows, not so pretty, not so flash, but its fathers rich and powerful so just click on IE and everythings going to be alright.

Switch to Linux. Its the only O/S that i've ever used that lets me (the ACTUAL OWNER!!) of the computer to do what I want to do.

(Why are apple computers hated so much? Because they're s**t)

finally! hooray for linux

MACs are hard to understand. They have the s**t only on the bottom and top instead of making it easy.

"Wow, I can see my whole desktop, but I have to go through a lot to use my stuff."

At least, that's how I perceive that bit.

Also, there's the fact that MACs are more expensive (at least in my experience), as well as the fact that most things come as PC-ready, such as computer games. Yes, some games work for both and some games are for MACs, but it is still easier to have Windows.

Another thing is that if you use a computer for fun and not business, then having a MAC is like wearing Tommy Hilfiger clothes to school. It shows you have a lot more money and that you spend it on yourself.

its like anything in life use what you like and what you can afford. ive never used a mac but i wouldnt be saying they are rubbish. its the same argument that used to go on about commodores and ataris.

Everyone I know who hates them just hates them because they don't know anything about them, or how to use them. They've been brought up in a world of windows and are naive. I hate it when people diss on something before they've tried it. And if they have tried it and still prefere windows- they should at least have the decency to admit that they are beautiful and not "junk" because anyone who uses one at least once cannot hate them completely.

feel free to drop me a message!

It's because of the snobbish elitism displayed by many Mac users and even more so by Apple commercials.

This is how many Apple commercials come across:

That's the answer.

"So buying a PC is now, for me, almost a kind of masturbation, or some elaborate tool for masturbation, the sort of terrifying thing you might see after you've mistyped a URL." -Tycho
