What is the point of leaving on the weekends? I know there isn't much to do around campus, but when you don't have to go to classes you can go goof off with friends. So what do you leave for?

Tell me about it. Friday by noon the dorm lots are half empty. Some of these kids need to cut the umbilical cord already. Stay and enjoy some college life, maybe then the parties wouldn't be on Thursday nights when we have to get up for class on Friday. I'd rather party on Friday and Saturday nights like everyone else in the freakin world cause you don't have to get up early. My parents are lucky if I stop home during spring break.

You're definately not the first to question this. Tech has been like this for a long time. Basically there's nothing to do. Your only other option is to change schools. Sorry.

I went to Michigan State University for a few years before I came here; it's easily 10 times the size of TTU, and the town it is located in has a hell of a lot more to do than cookietown, but it was the same story there.

I used to live up there too. The clubs were great. I used to hang with the DJ over at Sparties and go to huge after parties at his house. The dueling pianos and $.75 mixed drinks at...oh hell, what's the name of that club. Don't remember anymore. The cops didn't care about parties either. I had one at my apartment and the cops came to cause one of my neighbors called in about my music. The cop stood out in the hall and said really loud that "my neighbors called complaining because they don't have friends of their own to invite over". Then he asked if it was a good turn out and told me where there were good parties going on. I told him that they couldn't be that good if he knew about em, he laughed.

Yup, much more to do around there. Cookeville is boring.
