So, my friend went on holiday and asked me to look after her kitten. My kitten is her kittens sister, so I said yes thinking it was probably the best place for her to be so she has some familiar company. She brought her over said hello and left. Within minutes I noticed that she was riddled with fleas. The word infestation does not define the amount of fleas she has. I put a comb through her and it was crawling so much it was impossible to count how many there are. She knows full well I spend alot of money keeping my cats in top condition, frontline the works even though they're indoor cats. As we speak she is having her flat fumigated because of the infestation.. so why the hell didn't she tell me before she brought her here? Why did she bring her problem into my flea free house knowing how well I look after my cats? I'm so f***ing angry with her.. I told her if she didn't get it sorted I would speak to the RSPCA about it, all she said was "I didn't want her back anyway." She had no intetion of getting her kitten back, and leaving the problem with me. I phoned the RSPCA, they will rehome her now but for the mean time, she is still here covered in fleas. I have no frontline because my cats aren't due yet, and no money till next Wednesday so there is nothing I can do. Why can't people look after their pets properly?!

I dunno, but it absolutely sickens me when people don't! Good on you for taking care of yours though.

It's so bad not properly caring for a pet you have. What happened to the though a pet is a member of your family.

That's what makes me more angry than anything. She was badgering me to get her a kitten when my mums cat had a litter, and I did with difficulty. It's not f***ing rocket science.. food, water, grooming, frontline and love. She doesn't need much at all! The frontline is working well on my babies, they haven't got any despite being in close contact with her kitten.. but if I have to get my house fumigated because of her problem, I am not paying for it.

FLEAS thats really bad! and now you run the risk of a house infestation, tell her to get her arse to the vet and buy the frontline, and if you have to treat your house, f***ing bill her! I frontlined mine last night cos they were due....I really really HATE fleas!

No point asking her to go get frontline when she hasn't officailly got a cat anyway.. she's as good as abandoned her. c***ish to say the least!

I feel for you. I had someone look after my kitten and cat in the summer for a few days while i went away. They also have a cat.

Mine came back riddled with fleas. What could i do though? I couldnt complain to a person who kindly took care of my cats. Even now i have used three courses of flea treatment and i am still finding them.

And shots Well at least here they need rabies a couple others
But no taking care of cats is easy. I had to frontline mine too. I never had fleas before with my present critters, but I think mine picked up some

Yes, that is true. I don't think she even registered with a vet, so shots are quite possibly a no go with the kitten.

That truly is terrible too. Imagine someone bringing fleas into your home though, when you kindly take care of them. f***ing rude indeed!
