Why do men think shouting at the television will make the silly men kicking a ball around a field watched by loads of other men who paid good money to sit and watch them kick the ball about kick the ball one bit better?

That's how they have fun with it, they get to expend that testosterone or whatever.

Uhhhhh I yell at the TV when men kick a ball and I'm not a man. I'm just giving them some advice!

I exclaim..loudly..when watching sports. It's enthusiasm for your player/team.

Dunno could be they think the players will somehow hear them

Probably a subconscious attempt to aid your team...lol. Somewhere deep in the primal part of our brain, I think we forget that we aren't really there, but only watching TV lol.

On a side note though, I'm a guy and I almost hate sport =/. I'm a martial artist instead :D.

I ask myself the same question; I ask my hubby the same question..I get silence for my answer.

I told hubby, "stop shouting at them, you are going to make them nervous, and they will foul up"..he got a bit quieter.

The world is full of armchair critics.

My mother watches hockey a lot. Her favorite team is Toronto. I remember living at home and she would shout at that tv and the players. She would cheer so loud when they got a goal and she would scream so loud when they messed up. I think for the past few years though, especially this year, she is just screaming at the mistakes and yelling at the coach.

we would do the same if we were at the game... so we are just keeping in shape (vocally) for the next time we go
