I suppose it depends on what music you like.
I personally think Hank Marvin and Brian May are excelent. You may dissagree, but each to their own.

Its always Hendrix, as he had soul, passion, crazy dreams, desire and some skill to boot.

Learning from 50's blues made him a great guitarist and a very influential one from his death onwards till today.
