There's this boy on the internet that's 14 years old. He's white and I am a 13 year old black boy. We both go to this " Spongebob Forum". It seems that every time I make a topic about black people he gets all defensive. Like one time I made a topic about Black History month and how it is viewed as less important at times. He made a post claiming that I was trying to call all whites racist just because I was mentioning how sometimes Black history is viewed as less important as white history. The reason I made this topic is because the Spongebob forum I go to is made up of mostly white kids. When I mentioned black history they were like " Whats black history". I think everyone should know their history no matter what but these kids are not really involved in anything that has to do with black people as far as knowledge goes. I mean the kid that gets defensive says that I am trying to call him racist even when the topic isn't about him. It just confuses me how anyone can be so obvious in being so uncomfortable when black people are mentioned.

your grammar and punctuation is fabulous for being 13...

but some people are just like that..
its very unfortunate that america will always be a little defensive about racism...

I don't see why white people need to know about black history...or any people...

I don't see why we really need to know about history at all actually. I enjoy history classes and usually find them interesting, but why is it a required course in middle school and high school. I mean, why do you need to know about World War 1? Is it somehow going to help your career? Unless you plan on being a history teacher or historian.

well i liked history...
the reason why they teach it to you is so you can see what happened in the past and how we made it though and how much america has changed...

do you ever ask about your ancestors??..like ever curious about your family tree?? origin? it really has no affect on your carrer but its nice to know where your family came from and what tributes and turmoils they went though right??

its just interesting ... like you said..

Thanks for the compliment. I just get annoyed because the same boy is the one that I get into flame wars all the time with. the reason being is because he has an ego problem. He doesn't like it when people talk back to him and he want to be right all the time. Then when someone like me comes around to disagree with him he starts insulting me and straying away from the debate.

Like if I was in a debate with him about Animal cruelty and I disagreed with him on a subject in the debate. He would be like " Whatever! You are just too narrow headed and clueless to understand which is why no one likes you!"

So anyways yeah xD.

Yeah I agree, it's interesting. But why is it a required class? Required classes should bethe ones hat will benefit you later in life.

math, and science isnt needed in most jobs either...
just curriculum that the government feels should be thought i guess...
you should send a letter to the school board or something

Yeah. My views on racism is that it doesn't matter what race we are. The human race itself is ignorant and will eventually kill itself from it's own hatred towards things as petty as skin color. Animals are a good example of what we should be like. Not being fury and feathery but not always discriminating because animals don't really care at all.

but the sad truth is that racism will never go away...

it is so bad here in georgia...
the whole "redneck" thing is strong here where i live...
and there are words slung around like its just part of everyday language here..
its so horrible

A lot of people think that the reason why we learn a lot of the useless stuff such as algebra so that our minds can be closed minded to the important things so that it will be easier for the government to control us. Though that is all just conspiracy. The only reason why we have all these exams is so funding can be earned. Really the tests don't help at all.
