...Hit a woman

Hypothetical situation.

You are in your pub / night club, chatting with some mates when you get a bottle smashed over your head (or some other sort of assault). The offender is a woman.

Are you entitled to strick the woman like you would strick a man?

or

You are walking done the street a gang of "Hoodie" neds/chavs try to mug you. Do you fight back if you know that you will be stricking females?

I dont think it should be ok to hit a guy and not a girl.

It may not be right but it still happens.

So do you turn the other cheek? or stand your ground? Ive never been in that situation but i think that i might stand my ground

I think violence is stupid whoever you are fighting with.

I dont think its acceptable to punch a guy in the face, the same as its not for a woman.

I would just like to add, and I dont know wether this makes me a hypocrite or not but overall my problem is with people - not just guys - who attack pregnant women.

Its an intirely different story.

i'd defend myself if i felt threatened.
if a girl pulled a knife on me i'd hit her pretty quick.

this situation is extremely rare though.

but a friend of mine was mugged in vietnam by three women, they got away with some money but he hit one to get his passport back, i think it was justified.

there's no black or white, its rare for a woman to threaten a man to the degree its merited but just being a girl doesn't give you a free ticket to do whatever you want.

Yep i agree that in an ideal world people shouldnt attack one another, however we live in an imperfect society where this happens.

Unfortunatly in my opinion our society views any violence toward women as disgusting no matter what the circumstances. This leads to double standards, when women want equal rights.

Yes it is like you said Treacle, amusing how some people think its ok to hit one person but not another based on sex.

Equal rights in my opinion means that if a woman wants to behave, or act like a man then expect to be treated like one. Ie you hit me then expect it back!

I know some pretty wacky girls. I know guys that are scared of these girls. They all use weapons - real hard eh?
