Python is my favorite.

I'm a software engineer, have been for 15 years. At work these days I spend time with C++, VB.net, Java, and both web (HTML) and database (SQL) and am capable in LISP/Scheme and OCAML. All that said every time I get an opportunity to choose what language I work in it's Python... I get more done in less time, easily.

I like C for some odd reason it was my first language oh well. I do like java and c++ also for internet programing I use Jsp, javascript, and html. I know perl I find it hilarious a friend once told me that he programed something and 2 hours later had no idea what he he did. Php is interesting I only know a little. Python I think is an amazing language and I hope some day to learn more then just a little of the basics. I think everone should learn some Assemble it is fun times I am taking a cla** in it next semeseter I only know som basics for a robot I was programing. But I think I can tell you better when I finish my Software Engineering Degree

I hate C++. I had one cla** of that, hated it, and only used it once again ever. I'm not used to internet programming language but for math purposes MATLAB rocks.

I use C#, Java, Asp & VB. Between them all I have never had any complaints in my work.

Moving onto Flex now and I have to say I love it, it's giving me the chance to create really great web apps with very little difficulty.

I think therefore I am, I think

Ok - this is going to sound dumb - but as the topic is open.

How hard is this cc+ etc to learn?

I can only speak for myself, but once you have a good understanding of a particular language and understand its syntax, then learning new languages is not too difficult.

A language like C and C++ are harder to learn because they are less forgiving of programmer mistakes, and aren't as flexible as something like VB. There are many good books out there especially this series . That you can use to educate yourself and get a handle of the languages.
