So I was rummaging around, doubled up in pain, looking for some Motilium to at least keep the pain at bay until I could see a doctor for my gastritis two nights ago.

I just cannot believe how many different types of medicine there is in the cabinet! I checked the expiry date - they were all within the time frame... but I was thinking I couldn't for the life of me remember when and why I bought half of it!

There's the standard Paracetamol (Panadol and Decolgen), Naprofen (pain and fever), clarinase (influenza), Prednisolone (allergies and infection), Benadryl (cough), Sudafed (dry cough), Actifed (phlegm), Zytec (runny nose), Ponstan (pain killer) and the standard first aid salves and materials. And of course, Tamiflu by the dozen.

Makes me feel like a hypochondriac... when the fact is I hate having to take medicines. I never do, unless absolutely necessary.

Threw most of it out - and kept the basic few.

Taken a look at your medicine cabinet lately? What's in yours?

My medicine cabinet is restricted to this:

Some flasks of teatree oil, which you can use for all kinds of pain relief as well as to cleanse wounds(try it, you'll never see a wound heal faster).

Two examples of the plant Aloe Vera, to treat burn wounds and minor scratches.

Ok,so none of this is actually IN any form of cabinet.. but ya know.

Medicine's bad for you if you're taking it simlpy to deal with gentle ailments. It weakens your immune system. I haven't had paracetamol in about ten years and I rarely get colds and headaches.
Deal with it! Pain is beautiful!

But I do understand that if you have kids - some of these are absolutely necessary. Helpful for minor ailments.

The only stuff I have is Voltarol, or however it is spelt. It's a mild form of morphine.
Only due to my broken ribs.

Aside from that I don't take meds.

Yeah after reading over that list I have decided I'm an over the counter drug addict LOL not really but I do suffer from bad headaches and stomach ulcers. My husband takes stomach pills like candy also because his stomach is very sensitive to some spicy foods and so he needs them.

Nothing but some Panadol for the two toddlers.

Oh, there are jars with Chamomile Flower, St. Johns Wortz, etc. Use these as infusions if need be.

Also, use garlic, chillis, honey, lemons etc...

Western medicine makes my gut churn and ruins my health.

I don't keep my regular medicine in my medicine cabinet, or medicine for when I'm sick. I use my medicine cabinet to store small toiletry/travel items because one of my bathroom's weak points is storage .

I dont even have a medicine cabinet. It's a death trap for small children. If a child KNOWS that's where you keep the drugs, No safety lock will keep them out. I keep mine in a fireproof safe with other things my nieces and nephews should never see. But the meds i have in there are asthma steroids, Diabetes medication, and Lortab.
