Every animal is wild, even if it's been "domesticated" for thousands of years in my mind. They all have wild instincts and if the right thing spurs them, they can become agressive. But if you treat them with respect, respect them when they ask you to back off, and most animals do, in their own way, they can be your friend. It's all about respect. You get what you give, and I know sometimes innocent kids get attacked, and the dog probably has been abused and neglected, but I still don't blame the dog one bit, he's doing what nature taught him to do to protect himself as he sees fit.

Any dog can make a fine pet no matter the breed, all it takes is love and respect.

I don't want to be one in a million. I want to be one in 6.7 billion.

In a 7 year study, only 1.89 % of bites were caused by pitbulls. In a list of 100 breeds likely to bite, pitbulls were 4th from bottom, labs and spaniels are statistically more likely to attack. (for those who decided not to watch the video.)

I'm not interested in what surveys say .. 'What I think about Pit Bulls' is that they should not be kept as domestic pets.

No amount of sentimentality is going to change that view.

That's not sentimentality dude.
That's fact. Fair difference.

If you're not going to listen to facts, why do you even think people will consider your opinion
valid?

Yes, but when given facts, you ignore them.

Pitbulls are responsible for very few attacks in the larger schemes of things, thus pulling
apart any need to ban them.

Opinions are fantastic and all, but when fact comes into play, they do have to take a backseat.

that doesn't mean a lot.

consider how many pitbulls there are, now consider how many Labrador there are.

regardless to which breed is the the more aggressive, the Labrador will always have a larger percentage of bites, due to the larger number of Labrador's.

Latest survey shows that 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the world's population.

Also - It only takes into account bites that were recorded.

I never recorded it when my mums dog bit me.

and if people are wondering.
pit bulls aren't banned in the uk.
this is because pit bull, is not a breed, its a term used to describe many various dog breeds.

the only pit bull breed that is banned in the uk is the American Pit Bull Terrier.

That's right, I'm not going to change my view because of a survey either.

That makes sense, and I do agree.
But, dog personalities are not different ONLY as a result of their breed.
Not every pit bull is the same, not every poodle is the same.
Can we all agree that dogs can have personalities that are not associated AT ALL with their breed?

I know dogs of all different breeds that are shy, social, have a sense of humor, are snobby, or dopey, agressive, sneaky, or whatever, and that does not have to do with their breed.

jmo originally said that "...it is no coincidence that certain breeds attack people/children/other animals more than others do." and that is what i belive is wrong. It is a coincidence.

Pit Bulls attack people more than any other breed because pit bulls are the popular breed to train to fight. If poodles were the popular dog to train to fight, then poodles would attack the most people/animals/whatever. Before pit bulls, it was German Shepherds. German Shepherds used to be the dog that attacked the most people.

Then you should be required to get a licence that says you are qualified to handle the dog, it is afterall a lethal weapon if trained incorrectly.

Those who don't believe in evolution haven't benefited from it.
