Have you ever read The Historian? A Great Dracula Story.

I read the first 4 books at 12, 18, and 24, and just read the last one for the first time a month or so ago. It's a great series, entertaining (the plot), educational (Auel spends on average 5 years researching before writing each book), and thought provoking (there's a heavy emphasis on what the world was like before modern man came and mucked it up).
I love those books, perhaps one of the very first series that got me interested in books. I found Valley of the Horses among my mother's books, read it, loved it, and had to read the rest.
The series that I could read over and over again(and have), are the Deverry novels by Katherine Kerr. The first book in the series is the very first book that I bought with my own money.
