26/F/Wordsley, United Kingdom Join Date: Apr 2008 | The Phantom Tollbooth By Norton Juster, i've read it like six times since i was 12 and it always has me entranced, how i would love to meet Princesses Rhyme and Reason and take a trip to Dictionopolis where i could quite literally eat my words before rushing to the tower in the sky!
The Book with No Name by Anonymous, I keep raving about this book because it has your gripped from the very first chapter, roaring with laughter, gasping with shock, grimacing with distaste and with no clue as to where the plot is going it keeps you guessing right up until the final pages. 5 people have been murdered, the only thing linking them is the fact that they have all read the book with no name....Dare you read it???
Stephen Kings The Stand. Speaks for itself really, a journey filled with new friends and fraught with danger...the ultimate battle between good and evil.
Those are my three folks!

24/F/Savannah, Georgia Join Date: Apr 2008 | The Earth Children series by Jane Auel (The Clan of the Cave Bear, The Valley of the Horses, The Mammoth Hunters, The Plains of Passage, The Shelters of Stone). I read the first 4 books at 12, 18, and 24, and just read the last one for the first time a month or so ago. It's a great series, entertaining (the plot), educational (Auel spends on average 5 years researching before writing each book), and thought provoking (there's a heavy emphasis on what the world was like before modern man came and mucked it up).
Also, I just read "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" by Gregory Maquire. I fully intend on re-reading it to get the deeper levels. It's completley entertaining, but also is a deeper study into good and evil. A great read. | | |
