There is no f**king way black metal is the heaviest form of metal. Black metal revolves around melancholic and semi-melodic riffs. The only black metal bands even close to being the heaviest are black/doom bands like Evoken. Even still, most black/doom bands don't even qualify.

The heaviest is definetly doom and old style death metal(85-93).

Have you ever listened to Peste Noire? Nargaroth? Those guys are brutal as hell. Doom is
nowhere near the heaviest it is either Death Metal or Black Metal.

I'm going with Doom. The concept of a band playing very f**kin' slowly is heavier and more intense than one playing really f**kin' fast, to me.

Music I listen too...

Brutal does not equal heavy.

The title is HEAVIEST genre of metal, not, the "most brutal" genre.

Well, Black Metal is pretty heavy if you look at the underground stuff. Depressive Black Metal/
Suicidal Black Metal is very heavy emotionally, and so is Symphonic Black Metal.

Sorry to say this, guys, but you're all wrong. The heaviest metal appears to be Lutetium.

I feel sorry for y'all. Hey, what's this topic doing in the Music forum?

this arguement is pointless, until someone actually defines heavy.

and as there are numerous definitions of heavy.
it is still quite pointless.

Latest survey shows that 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the world's population.

If we're talking about the "oh my God, can this be legal?!" factor, I would say that satanic death metal is more heavy than any other style.
