48/NA/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Join Date: Mar 2008 | as a working ranch hand ,,I would rather spend the day looking between my horses ears herding cows to water then deal with most people I've met
When my grandfather was alive and running the place all our ranch horses were homegrown he broke them and we kept them here till they died of old age,, we had one that was 36 years old when he died , after my grandfather passed I went to work on a neighbors place and he has a herd of wild mustangs, they round up them every 3 or 4 years to sell adopt or break to ride, I got a green broke gelding when I went to work and 7 years later I am convinced the only good cow pony is a mustang,, green broke means he had been saddled and rode at least 10 times.
If your gonna go, go like hell, If your minds not made up, Dont use your SPURS !! | | |

I am breaking him right now and he is doing really well, I've been riding him about 5 to 10 minutes a day and I'm going to start ground driving him to get him a little more used to direct reining and collecting. Next month we'll be on
the trails! It is very, very hard to lose one though, especially when you love them so much.
Hmmm. Wonder what being "broken in" feels like? Then again,
I wonder what it is like to have an iron bar put into my mouth
so my head can be yanked from side to side.
