Did you say in this thread that you had started reading TO Kill A Mocking Bird?

A play called "Whose Life Is It Anyway?". My teacher won't give into my protests that "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" also raises moral issues, so we should study that instead

I read that last week, i enjoyed it very much. I thought it would be all coutroom mumbo jumbo but it was written beautifully through the eyes of a 9 year old girl.

I started reading it not long ago as well and loved the writing, the mood of it.

If you're now on to Tom Sawyer, I guess you're taking a walk through the classics. Enjoy!

yup taking a stroll through American classics, I have to admit i need to go back to english literature. No snobbery involved, just i have read 4 american novels and need to go back to english. There are words and phrases that are American South slang that i have no hope in ever finding the meaning. Im gonna go for macbeth next, and then maybe something trashy like the devil wears prada.

The Devil Wers Prada is a way better book than it was a film, to me anyway.

I love Southern ficiton. Have a sweet spot for it, but then I'm familiar with the colloquialisms. It's your non-American English that can throw me for a loop!

To Kill a Mocking Bird is one of my favorite books. Breakfast at Tiffany's is also a great read.
