Anyone know the story behind the painting- ? I heard some things but want to have it checked out

There is quite a lot of information about Christina Olson in 'The Art of Andrew Wyeth' by Wanda M Corn, published for The Fine Arts Museum of San Fransico by the New York Graphic Society, Boston. If this is the source of the information that you already have, I'm sorry to have wasted your time. If not, it's an interesting account, very heavily illustrated, of Wyeth's work.
