I am pissed off because USB modems don't work on open bsd. they don't work on linux as well. why the hell do i need to use ethernet when i've usb? why are communities developing distros and OSs not come up with ways to make them work. only few are supported. i just got a zte usb modem and it does not work. i've to connect my computer to the internet via my old computer running winxp. this sucks. usb modems are evil. the purpose of this thread is to bash usb modems if you think they are evil.

People keep saying how bad Windows is and how good Linux is... Here's a perfect example of a typical UNIX headache!

....the problem is not with Linux... the problem is with the hardware manufacturers, it is THEIR job to create the drivers...just that, since almost everyone is using windows they do not have an urgency to create drivers.


PS: Ethernet is faster
