I am off to Australia in four weeks and travelling from UK.
I really want to know what is the best way to take money there. Apart from cash are traveller cheques easy to exchange or am I better to use ATM for cash using my Debit card and credit card for transactions?

Depending on the exchange rate you may be better off to withdraw in the UK and exchange for cash when you get here.

Travellers cheques are safer but to me, that safety is discounted by the fact that you have to carry your passport with you everywhere to use them as most places in Oz will want to see it when you sign your cheque before they will accept it. Good way to lose your passport but that's just my opinion.

Up to you of course but I would use cash and my credit card if I were you. Facillities for both are readily available.

Keep an eye on the exchange rate the week before you come. You should do well - better than I did when I exchanged Aust currency for pounds in 2006 - I nearly cried.

Depends on your bank, my bank doesn't charge roaming fees so taking money out with my card in Australia didn't lose me much money at all.

Probably did lose out a bit on the exchange but it wasn't much.

I haven't seen anywhere in AU that you can't do ATM or eftpos. As long as its a visa card.
