OK, so at my school few days ago, a boy and a girl were in a fight. The girl started the fight (as far as I know), and the boy naturally hit back. But now a lot of people are after him because he hit a girl.
Thinking about the situation, was it wrong of him to hit back, instead of walking away, or taking it, or just trying to stop her, without actually hitting back? It's not always easy to walk away from something like that, and if it had been him against another guy, there'd probably be no problem.
So is this guy in the right or in the wrong? In today's modern society, is it acceptable to say that a girl hitting a guy is fine, but the guy hitting back wrong?
A man should never hit a women and they know this, so at times they push the issue to the limits.
Sometimes a man must walk away because our lady friends can make us so mad at times it wouldn't be pretty.

Join Date: Feb 2008 | It's disgusting for a girl to hit a guy and then try to hide under the protection of being female. No, girls are not weak, but the average man is still stronger than the average woman, unless we're talking about huge disparities in size here.
That said, I have three boys and since they were old enough to comprehend anything, they have been taught never to hit a girl. But here's where it gets tricky...girls today aren't like girls when I was in school. Some of them are violently aggressive, and if some crazy out-of-control chick were to attack my son, I would not expect him to hit her as his first response, but I would expect him to defend himself. I would hope he would opt for something less than hitting her, like attempting to restrain her or whatever, if that was a choice. | | | |

I've known girls that could knock ten shades of s**t out a guy without breaking a sweat. I've known girls that could beat the crap out of me, and I'm no pushover.
To say "it's not ok for a boy to hit a girl because boys are inherently stronger" is sexist by definition (remember the racism argument? Same thing).
If a 4'5 80 pound girl decided she wanted to express her frustrations at me physically, I'd probably take it, or restrain her with minimal force.
If a 6' 220 pound female kickboxer (I've known one) decided the same thing, you can bet your bottom dollar I'll hit her. It'd be that, or get beaten into a stain on the carpet. She could run faster than me too 
So, in my view it'd depend on relative sizes and what the chances of the girl inflicting any sort of serious damage would be. If he could have easily taken it, or restrained her with minimal damage, he should have (same true if she were a he, by the way). If he was going to get hospitalized if he didn't defend himself, then all thoughts of chivalry go out the window.
