Now after hearing the nice <cough> speech that Pastor Wright has given, Obama is denouncing him. Why didn't he denounce his teachings 20 years ago? I think Obama is an undercover racist and radical and doesn't want the public to see that side of him because he knows it wouldn't do him any good in the election. Wright has come out looking as angry, racist and anti-American as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the other men that spout off about how bad it is to be black in America.
People make their own life choices. If they work hard, get an education, they can do what they want and I really doubt there are that many companies that wouldn't hire someone because of the color of their skin in this day and age. If they had those practices, who would want to work for them anyway? But our country has come a long way since even 1970 when it would have been unheard of for a black man to run for the presidency. Now it's accepted and possible but not for someone who is so wishy washy about his association with his own minister.
I'm just really tired of hearing about how hard it is on black people in America. There have been plenty of people raised very poor, had very hard lives and still made it.
But you can't wait for the government to do it for you. You have to reach and attain your own dreams. Welfare is not a way of life, it's a short term solution to help people get on their feet, not a career. But we have people who make it their career and then bitch about how bad they have it. Just doesn't make sense to me why they expect everyone owes them a living. Then they raise their children believing the same thing. The more kids you have the more money you get. But it's never enough and the first thing that the government takes away from someone who depends on it is self pride.

i'm really tired of hearing it's a christian nation. if there were any christians in it, they would probably give a s**t about those less fortunate, instead of giving lip service to them and god on sundays, then bitching that poor people are lazy. working three jobs and still not having enough to take two kids to regular doctor appointments isn't lazy, it's oppressed.
and some of those poor happen to be black, but some people (let's not call them racists, because no one is anymore!) would like to focus on helping the impoverished whites only, while implying that black people haven't earned the right to be cared about.
how do they end up there? simple, they paint all black people with the same brush. but let's not call it racism. let's call it fake christianity, the official religion of right wing america.

Can I join your pity party for the poor? No one is oppressing them. They are poor because of poor choices they made through out their life. They are responsible for their position in life, no one else. | | | Edited: May 01, 2008 @ 03:59

31/M/, Join Date: Feb 2008 | please don't act like there hasn't been 8 years of stereotyping and bulls**t from the right okay?
"unamerican," confusing party loyalty with patriotism, freedom fries, and the bulls**t i have to hear from raditz even though i have him ignored. it's not like this is just me, it's my country too. get over yourself, enginere, please.
you're not the only one with an opinion, and i was responding to mermaid's ridiculous rightwing stereotype of black people. don't make the far right out to be the victim, it's too pathetic.
and just for the record the far right is racist. you'd have to go out of your way to ignore it if you can't see that.
if you are a little bit more conscious than they are, i'm not lumping you in with them. but if you're defending their hate and comparing my complaint about it to their hatred, then there's not much anyone can tell you, is there?

Good Bless you, I love you. Are you married.
Anybody with a legitimate education should understand the dynamics of giving people rewards for being ignorant and lazy.
Not to offend anyone on this post but the same can be said about labor unions. When ever the government steps in a true allocation of the economies resourses cannot be achieved. Sure some level can be justified as I guess it would be unfare to assist some individuals but unfare has a cost to each and everyone of us and it BREEDS Laziness.

Question, why do they work three jobs??
Chances are the people that you speak of lack the education to better themselves. It is not my obligation to make sure someone is motivated and driven enough to make a life for themselves instead of asking to eat out of my hand and begging at my feet.
My mother owned a Charity in SC for many years where they provided for those less fortunate and there were times when the individuals seeking help were dealt a band hand of cards but the statistics speak for themselves. There are only 52 cards in a deck. Seriously stop lieing to yourself. It is doing nobody any good.
