I have to say, I think this whole issue of racism with Obama's church and his minister is the scariest thing I have ever heard of in my lifetime.
I never imagined that a Christian church affiliation could teach so much hate in it.

I have to admit, if I went to a church and the minister started talking about how the blacks in America are the cause of all our problems, etc, I would get up and walk out of that church and never go back because I DO believe in God's love for all mankind no matter what color we are. I sure wouldn't stay 20 years and then try to dismiss it as "it's not really how I feel." You don't raise children in a church you don't agree with their teachings. No one does.

But I don't have a problem with gay people. I am not gay but I have friends who are and they aren't any different than I am except their sexual preference.

Interesting point you make, but Like Obama said the most segregated hour is on Sunday. He has been the only man in our time to call out black and whites on their racism while running for president. You have to love this country more then the presidency to say condem the racism that becomes apparent on Sunday by Christians.

jgore, I understand your point of segregation hours on Sunday except that there are numerous churches that blacks and whites both attend. We have a multi-racial church and I love it. We are all God's children. Instead of spreading hate between races, we as God's children, should be spreading love for our fellow man.
Maybe I am confused that in this day and age when I see more and more multi-racial marriages, children and their friends together, non-segregated schools, and businesses, that there are people who still believe the majority of people are racist.
I think I can honestly say that it's what is in someone's heart that matters more to me than where they come from or what color their skin is.

Just because some ones spirital leader is a bigot and racist doesn't mean they are.

My dad was one of the worst racists I have ever met. Doesn't mean I"m one.
