I can understand the older generations being this way though. They were raised in a different time. Also with WW2, Vietnam, well I don't think we need to go down THAT road...
Edit - Just remembered something my Granddad said when watching an olympic swimming event. His eyesight was well on the way out, but his remarks about an indian swimmer saying "Why is that guy wearing a wet suit?" we explained what was going on, he just said "Oh, I didn't know they could swim, do they have swimming pools over there?"
