Well, Im a HP fan. Have read all the books and seen all the movies, (so far). I chose Hermoine. Not only is she smarter than the boys But she has to put up with a lot coming from a non-magical family.

Oh......And she keeps those boys in their places

I can't stand Harry Potter. The very mention of his name sends me up the walls but I have never read so much as a page from one of his books or seen any of his films.

I was poisioned against HP by a teacher friend of ours who is such a HP fan she has sickened me of the whole HP bandwagon. She potificates about HP at every opportunity and rattles on at lenght about how fantastic it is for her pupils to read.I think I would rather read the phone book than to join her HP club.

I read the first chapter of the first book in one of my classes a couple of years ago.

It was horrible. Poorly written with one-dimensional characters and too much predictability.

I'd rather my children read something with a bit of intelligence in it, rather than feeding them bad crap with wizards.
