Truthfully, I don't think there's a "best" metal band. There's some really great ones that stand out, but I don't think there's a "best." But I shall name a few of my favorites (no particular order):
Megadeth
Iced Earth
Pantera
Iron Maiden
Black Label Society
Ozzy Osbourne
Black Sabbath
God Forbid
Opeth
Children Of Bodom
Shadows Fall
Metallica (before the madness)
Anthrax
Strapping Young Lad
Death
Judas Priest
Led Zeppelin
DragonForce
Metal Church
Steve Vai
Neil Rambaldi
Michael Angelo Batio
Yngwie Malmsteen
Demons and Wizards
Blind Guardian
DragonLord
Nile
Cacophony
Jason Becker
Marty Friedman
Nightwish
Sonata Artica
Angra
Lamb of God
Destruction
Alice Cooper
Graveworm
Armored Saint
Scar Symmetry
Soilwork
Motorhead
AC/DC
Rammstein
Meshuggah
Gojira
Dimmu Borgir
Primal Fear
Testament
Helloween
Gamma Ray
Dream Theater
... That's all I can think of for now.
Here's obviously the best from your list even if AC/DC is mostly hard rock...and I wanted to know something..I heard a song from Iced Earth,Melancholy, and it's outstanding..do you know where i can find some free of their mp3's??
