New York Yankees(47-35), 2nd Place in American League East.

The Bronx Bombers rebounded from yesterday's 19-1 loss(the second worst loss in franchise history) to the Cleveland Indians, and cruised to a 11-3 victory over Cleveland on Wednesday.

The angry Yankees stole six bases and gave Paul Byrd(6-6) an early trip to the showers. Byrd went 3.2 innings. He allowed 9 runs, 10 hits and 0 walks.

An injured Mike Mussina pitched six strong innings. He Allowed three runs, five hits and 1 walk. Wilson and Rivera pitched three scoreless innings.

Melky Cabrera, Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada supplied all of the offense that the Yankees would need. Cabrera went 3-for-4, with 2 runs and 5 RBIs. Cabrera's first career grand slam to deep center ignited a eight-run fourth inning.

Jeter went 2-for-4, with 1 run and 1 RBI. Posada went 2-for-5, with 1 run and 2 RBIs.

Third baseman Aaron Boone(Indians) had three errors on the night.

With Gary Sheffield, Hideki Matsui and Robinson Cano on the DL, it appears that Johnny Damon may be joining them. Damon has a slight muscle pull in his stomach.
