The italians co-opted that design, not the other way around.

Note that the symbol, which is a symbol of war, is paired with an olive branch - a symbol of peace - on the US dime and in the US House of Representatives.

the symbol was not even created by the italians its a roman symbol. theres no doubt that the US uses symbols of conquest
